You Might Hvae Missed It: Street of Shops

This Saturday, my mom and I were in the mood for some retail therapy (OK, it was me that needed the shopping trip, but that’s beside the point).

I didn’t necessarily feel like going to the mall, but didn’t know where else to get my shop on – so I suggested we try out a place I had heard of but never visited: The Street of Shops in Lewisburg.

We went and were so glad we did.

It was a fun afternoon of shopping for some unique and well-priced items in a cozy atmosphere. I couldn’t believe I hadn’t been there before with my love of shopping.

We did some early Christmas shopping and I got a picture to hang in my house – I spent $14 and my mom spent $20. You can’t beat that.

Anyway, it just goes to show you that even as long as we’ve lived here, you can still discover new and fun things in your own backyard. I know we’ll definitely be going back to visit again!

Bonus Photos: Children’s Health Fair

Saturday, I went to the Evangelical Community Hospital Children’s Health Fair at the Susquehanna Valley mall.

There was some really cool stuff there, including shows, puzzles and cool crafts.

See more coverage at dailyitem.com.

Here’s some additional photos I shot while walking around the fair Saturday afternoon.

Christmas: How early is too early?

image

This was the scene I encountered last weekend at a mall (not locally).

My first thought was, “What happened to Thanksgiving?! “

How early is too early for Christmas cheer? Stores want to milk the season of giving, but is that really appropriate?

I don’t even want to think about Santa until after the turkey’s carved. I mean, I like Thanksgiving and think it should be given its fair due.

What do you think?
