Ziosk-ing

This week in cool Valley restaurant news:

The Red Robin in the Monroe Marketplace got “ziosks” aka tablets which allow you to play games, listen to music, order food or pay your bill from your table.

It even prints your receipt!

Here’s my sister using it:

Our waitress said they Just got them Tuesday.

You have to pay for the games and extras, but even the regular features were cool.

Have you tried the Ziosks? What did you think?

  1. I’ve just come from a Red Robin that had these and it will be the last time I go there.

They’re ugly, they take up a ton of table real estate, and default to a tip MUCH higher than the waitress deserved. She also couldn’t provide any information about how my credit card information was being secured as it was being transmitted wirelessly through the building.

Like cutting out the fruit from the wraps and charging extra for the sauce that used to come withe the Jalapeño Coins, they’re nothing but an attempt to cut costs at the expense of customer satisfaction.

The next time I walk into a restaurant and see one of these I’m walking right back out.

    • Some very good points. It seems to be another way to cut out human to human interaction for the sake of “ease.”
